Can We All Agree™ – 10/28/17 edition

Can we all agree, the chances of the Spanish government allowing the Catalonia region to become independent are about the same this week as they were last week: zero?

Can we all agree, Mr. Trump declared an opioid emergency, but did the least amount possible to fight the epidemic?

Can we all agree, Republicans still have few clues about what will be in their tax cut package, but they still want to give the 1% a nice Christmas present?

Can we all agree, PGE, the utility that many blame for the recent fires in Northern California, may be slow to maintain their equipment, but they are pretty fast at lobbying to make sure ratepayers, and not stockholders,  pay for their mistakes?

Can we all agree, the immigration service may have the law on their side, but when they arrest disabled 10-year-olds after surgery, they look like uncaring thugs?

Can we all agree, Mr. Trump may think he is a beloved figure in the GOP, but the all-out civil war taking place in his party tells a whole different story?

Can we all agree, the FCC’s decision to loosen ownership rules on media outlets, means there will be fewer local news programs and more homogenized and probably biased news sources?

Can we all agree, the administrations mixed signals of California Governor Jerry Brown’s water tunnel project, is just one more example of a dysfunctional and poorly run, White House?

Can we all agree, having a national organization, such as the NAACP, warning an entire ethnic group about using your company, American Airlines,  is bad news and even worse PR?

Can we all agree, retiring Senators Jeff Flake and Robert Corker could now be the deciding votes on the Republicans tax cut plan, so maybe it would be good to stop insulting them?

Can we all agree, everyone has a favorite Fats Domino song?

Can we all agree, after listening to 8 years of conservatives warning about a budget deficit, their silence now is pretty deafening?

Can we all agree, there may be one call for jurors that everyone in Chicago might want to attend, since President Obama plans to answer the call?

Can we all agree, it’s getting tough to figure out  if no one or everyone wants credit for financing the dossier on Donald Trump’s activity in Russia?

Can we all agree, if big business wants an edge against consumers, Republicans will vote for it, no questions asked?

Can we all agree, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, has some explaining to do about the two-man firm from his home town, which ‘won’ a $300 million contract to restore some electrical service in Puerto Rico?

Can we all agree, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos knows she will not be welcomed at the nation’s public schools, so she is avoiding them?

Can we all agree, going to CVS to get health insurance will take some getting used to?

Can we all agree, conspiracy theorists will have at least another 6 months  to offer more half baked theories about the facts surrounding the Kennedy assassination?

Can we all agree, there needs to be a serious investigation into the deaths of four US solders in Niger, now that we know they were apparently alive when French helicopters rescued their comrades?

Can we all agree, Mr. Trump doesn’t seem to complain too much about government figures showing good news for the economy? So why do we need a tax cut?

Can we all agree, the courts did not have much choice but to allow an undocumented teen in detention to have an abortion?

Can we all agree, the decision by Republicans to open investigations into 7-year old decisions of the Obama administration makes them look like political tools of the administration?

Can we all agree, it’s fair to say Chinese President Xi Jingling may be the most important world leader now that Mr. Trump has abdicated the position?

Can we all agree, all 238 communities bidding for the new Amazon headquarters think they have the best proposal?

Can we all agree Melania Trump’s statement on bullying, annotated with tweets  from her husband, was just embarrassing?
