November 4, 2017

Can we all agree, the release of a climate change report at odds with the administration’s position, proves once again the White House is simply unable to walk and chew gum at the same time?

Can we all agree, EPA commissioner Scott Pruitt needs to get his own special copy of the report?

Can we all agree, White House is so focused on tax reform they cannot deal with other major issues that surface?

Scientists say Northern California wildfires are a symptom of climate change.

Scientists say the Northern California wildfires are a symptom of climate change.

Can we all agree, based on current Immigration and Custom Enforcement practices long-time residents from Central America and Haiti should be very worried?

Can we all agree, the louder House Speaker Paul Ryan proclaimed the new tax bill would be a boon to the the middle class, the more everyone knew it was a Christmas present for businesses and the wealthy?

Can we all agree, once the lobbyists are done with Congress the final tax bill, if there is one, will look nothing like what was unveiled this week?

Can we all agree, Special Counsel Robert Mueller has sent a clear message to everyone in the Trump White House, and they are all very worried?

Can we all agree, the public is seeing right through Mr. Trump’s bravado about the Russian election investigation? Each month his ratings seem to hit a new low.

Can we all agree, Mr. Mueller’s court filings have made it pretty clear he thinks the collusion with Russia goes right to the top of the campaign?

Can we all agree, the only reason Janet Yellen will be replaced as head of the Federal Reserve, is that she did not get along with Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and his rich boy’s club?

Can we all agree, Sam Clovis never should have been nominated to head the science division in the Agriculture Department.

Can we all agree, the Russian ads on Facebook could have been written by the Trump campaign?

Can we all agree, charges that the Democratic primary was rigged to make sure Hillary Clinton won, are more damaging than any of the chants at a Trump rally?

Can we all agree, the recommendations of the report by the President’s Opioid Commission, will never be implemented?

Can we all agree, only our current President could calm a worried nation after a terrorist attack, by blaming Sen. Chuck Schumer for a program the senator wanted to end years ago?

Can we all agree, when the current ACA enrollment period ends in 6 weeks, the GOP will discover it’s still pretty popular?

Can we all agree, it turns out Chief of Staff John Kelly is just as committed to ‘alternate facts’ as everyone else who works in the White House?

Can we all agree, if Papa Johns made better pizza they wouldn’t have to blame the NFL for their sales slump?

Can we all agree, it really didn’t take a report to tell us the collisions between Navy ships and tankers could have been prevented?

Can we all agree, the tech lawyers testifying before Congress this week, pretty much insured there will be some kind of legislation to regulate them, passed in the coming year?

Can we all agree, New Yorkers are saddened by the innocent lives lost in this week’s terror attack, but they’ve seen so much worse they were almost blasé?

Can we all agree, the disgruntled Twitter contractor, who gave us 11 minutes without Mr. Trump’s tweets, should be applauded?

In case you think humans are here because we were smarter than Neanderthals, think again.

Too bad there wasn’t much going on this week. Where to start?

The Pope In Philadelphia – LATimes photo

Can we all agree that, even excluding John Boehner, he will have a major impact on the social and political debate long after he has left?

Can we all agree that many Californians are still confused about why he would want to wade into the debate over Juniperro Serra by making him a saint?

Can we all agree that we didn’t even know that controversial Kentucky clerk Kim Davis was a Democrat? The GOP is welcome to have her.

Can we all agree that if you are a federal employee worrying about identity theft, things got a lot worse this week when the government announced that fingerprint records have also been stolen?

Can we all agree that it’s nice to know President Obama will meet with Mr. Putin, but we’re not sure how much good it will do? Have we seen his soul yet?

Can We All Agree V 3.0

December 11, 2014

Can we all agree that despite what the officials say, today’s storm ended the drought in most people’s minds.

Can we all agree that if you need a legal opinion to define ‘torture’ you are already in trouble. As the Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart once said about pornography, the definition may be unclear but, “I know it when I see it.”

Can we all agree that every once in a while the Noble Peace prize committee gets it right – like this year.

Can we all agree that the message of the Berkeley protestors has gotten a bit lost in the methods.

Can we all agree that the NCAA selection committee did a pretty good job. TCU and Baylor disagree but, the playoff games should be pretty good. My pick, Alabama-Oregon final with The Tide on top.

Can we all agree that the economy is headed in the right direction.

Can we all agree that John Boehner has told the Tea Party folks (and Ted Cruz) to sit down and behave like good little children and pass the $1.01 trillion spending package.

Can we all agree that there are probably so many unrelated provisions in the budget bill, (campaign finance is just one example) it will takes months to know what Congress is really approving.

Can we all agree that the Rolling Stone Magazine has done more to harm coverage of sexual assault than any jury ever could.

Can we all agree that continuing violence in protest of the Ferguson/NY grand jury decisions, is not helping race relations.

Can we all agree that when athletes participate in the debate on racial inequality, we all benefit.

Can we all agree that the Senate report on the CIA’s torture methods is an embarrassment to every American.

Can we all agree that GOP protests against release on the Senate torture report is just a smokescreen to protect George Bush.

Can we all agree that watching the price of oil fall is a great winter sport. The fact that Vladimir Putin is really squirming is just an added benefit.

Can we all agree that we knew Steve Kerr might be a pretty good coach but the Warriors are still a surprise.

Can we all agree that McDonald’s recent earning statement is good news for the overall health of the nation.

Can we all agree that when the federal agency sponsoring flu shots admits they might not do any good, the only winners are the pharmaceutical companies.

Can we all agree that the NFL’s treatment of cheerleaders is odious and disgusting and should be part of the sexual assault debate.

Can we all agree that President Bush may not have known what torture the CIA was up to, but Dick Cheney, the administration’s Darth Vader …come on.

Can we all agree that my RedSox may be better off with Porcello, Masterson and Miley instead of John Lester.

Can we all agree that The Santa Clara Niners…oh never mind.
